Latest news from spark is hat they are going into the 1:64 market with several race cars showing in their latest update. The Y prefix denotes the 1:64 cars. In the 1:43 nice to see the 98LM winner available as that will fill a definite hole in the winners collection.

As far as I know Lee, the '98 winner has already been released, so this would be a re-release (as Spark have done with several of their other Le Mans winners).

The 9 guys who've paid Trax GBP 199 each for one are going to be pretty p@#$ed :

Mind you, when there is already a great version from HPI, the decent Minichamps version is cheap and plentiful and you can get the Onyx version for under GBP 10, I'm surprised people are paying this sort of money for the Spark and there is enough demand to warrant a re-run.

Hi Paul,
Yes, we received your pre-order on 5 March for S4948 & S5081. Sharon e-mailed back to confirm your order the same day, and provided you with an updated pre-order list. You e-mailed us again on 10 March asking if we received your original pre-order. I then e-mailed back the same day - forwarding Sharon's e-mail - confirming that we have the two models on order for you.

Didn't you receive either of our messages?

Cheers, John

Hi everyone,

It was already long time coming, but I just noted that Spark announced 919's with the high downforce kit. Typically I would buy the Fuji one as I think it is a nice way to complete the Porsche Team. However, during the last race outing, Porsche used a tribute livery, which I was expecting to feature on the WEC champion car. From the pictures I have seen thus far, it looks like the standard livery.

Does anyone here have any news in this regard? Will Spark release the 919 tribute later? (Or maybe release the record car?? )

Thanks!

1:5th RACE HELMETS

I know that some sellers have been selling the Spark 1:5th racing helmets for quite some time, but we have just received our first shipment of nine different Le Mans and Formula helmets...
  • 5HF001 : Fernando Alonso - Formula One 2015
  • 5HF002 : Lewis Hamilton - Formula One 2014
  • 5HF003 : Sebastian Vettel - Formula One 2012
  • 5HF004 : Ayrton Senna - Formula One 1988
  • 5HF006 : Daniel Ricciardo - Formula One 2015
  • 5HF007 : Carlos Sainz - Formula One 2015
  • 5HF009 : Max Verstappen - Formula One 2016
  • 5HF011 : Ayrton Senna - Formula One 1991
  • HSP030 : Earl Bamber race helmet - Le Mans Winner 2015
Prior to receiving them, I wasn't sure what to expect, but now I've seen them I'm really impressed. Earl Bamber's helmet (worn during his victorious drive at the Le Mans 24 Hour in 2015) now adorns my desk, and I'm looks superb.

Strange.....mine is on its way from SPR. I'd suggest shooting an email to John to see if he can help.

Ian, John has already sent out emails apologizing. He only got 30% of the pre-orders on his list. So on a first come first served basis I fully understand John's situation as I only pre-ordered mine a few months back. Apparently it has been on the Spark list since 2016.

I get the distinct feeling Spark are holding back on quantities of certain models. Will they release later at a high premium knowing demand is high ;)

You were lucky Ian, you pre-ordered yours in February 2016. Unfortunately I couldn't supply some Customers who pre-ordered the Lola Mk6 GT over the last few months.

It isn't often that Spark cuts back our orders. They're usually very good, and as Distributors, we normally receive the quantity we originally ordered. However, if they have a production problem with a particular model (ie. a percentage of their production fails quality control for some reason), they don't seem to have the capacity to go back and produce more. They simply send fewer out to Distributors, and unfortunately, that's when collectors miss out. In this instance, I was just fortunate that I had some very understanding Customers (thanks Jeff & Paul).

This certainly reinforces the benefit of pre-ordering as early as possible.

Cheers, John

That's a tough one John.

The model seems to have disappeared off the websites of a number of major online retailers as well. Its not looking good.

Edit : One further thought......Spark like to have a good supply of their new models available at Le Mans. Given the timing, maybe the supplies to regular dealers and distributors were cut back to ensure thy had enough stock for Le Mans, and the remaining orders will be filled afterwards. It will be interesting to see if these Lola's are more freely available at the track this week ?

With respect to the Aston, there are a few questions being asked about the colour :
