You guys are gonna need more than one SC, 'cause the LM circuit is too long. :D
I'm pretty sure that Ian's recent home renovations were done so he could have a full 1:43 Le Mans diorama in the living room - so good point Bruno

Interesting sight of some new Sparks that may be of interest to you chaps.

An Aston DB214 (never heard of it) Le Mans racer.

Secondly, the debate around the Lola Mk vi is partially solved. It can’t be a mold issue as Spark are releasing a Nurburgring variant.

Re the Lola I don't see how it can be a licencing issue with the current owner as 1) They are modelling the car during the period before he owned it, and he as the owner has no IP rights. 2) Whatever claim he would have to it would extend across all race versions of that chassis.

Re the McQueen 917 hopefully this might mean Spark will redo the longtail versions of the Gulf cars, pretty please.
Another recent announcement for you US race fans (and this rotary nut) is the Kudzu-MAzda DG-3 of Wayne Taylor and co from Phoenix 1994,
though that will be a 2019 release.

Cheers

Just received my Spark 1/43 2018 Le Mans winning Toyota. Something is really wrong with it. The floor of the nose part of the car is curving upwards. The car literally looks like its holding its chin up.

Anybody else got this issue?

Any pictures ?

I think I see what you mean in the picture below. The front edge of the spoiler is sitting too high off the ground :

Looks like the picture of the real car the front spoiler has an upward tilt? Found this article which describes reconfigured front end of the TS050: http://www.racecar-engineering.com/ ... -ts050/

The chin spoiler seems to have been glued at an angle. Though on the real thing it is a bit curved, look at the line between the Michelin sticker and the winglet above.

Patience young grasshopper. The 2018 cars have only just started to be released this month. I'm sure we'll see them soon. Have you pre-ordered them ?

Yep. Mine is the same. But from that angle it does not look like a big problem. If the picture is taken flat with ground then the problem is revealed.

I also wonder if Spark has a real problem on their hands with 2019 Le Mans 24h as most cars will look the same 2019 vs 2018.

🏁 BREAKING NEWS 🏁

Here is an interesting twist! Spark has just announced that they will be releasing 1:43rd models of all four Ford GTs from Le Mans 2018.

As you all know, for the last couple of years TSM has been granted the licensing rights to produce the Ford GTs ... although the models were actually manufactured by Spark. Some of these models have been a bit slow to be released (we are still waiting for TSM's 2017 Le Mans models), so you'll be pleased to hear that Spark has announced that their 2018 models will be available March/April 2019.

The four Spark models are...
  • S7050 : Ford GT #66 'Ford Chip Ganassi Team UK' Le Mans 2018 (Stefan Mücke, Olivier Pla & Billy Johnson)
  • S7051 : Ford GT #67 'Ford Chip Ganassi Team UK' Le Mans 2018 (Andy Priaulx, Harry Tincknell & Tony Kanaan)
  • S7052 : Ford GT #68 'Ford Chip Ganassi Team USA' Le Mans 2018 (Joey Hand, Dirk Müller & Sébastien Bourdais - 3rd LMGTE Pro Class)
  • S7053 : Ford GT #69 'Ford Chip Ganassi Team USA' Le Mans 2018 (Ryan Briscoe, Richard Westbrook & Scott Dixon)
Cheers,
John

Great news John. It would be slightly ironic if Spark's 2018 Fords appeared before TSM's 2017 Fords.

The best part is the Sparks will hopefully be cheaper than the TSM's.

Now we just have to hope Ford run the retro liveries announced for Daytona at Le Mans in 2019 as well :

The article I read said Daytona only, but maybe they will come up with something different for Le Mans?

Hopefully the PR department at Ford saw how much marketing exposure Porsche obtained from their retro liveries last year. I just don't want an identical looking Ford in my collection for the 4th year in a row.

The Spark versions will definitely be cheaper Ian. Our Distributor price quoted on our order forms is exactly the same as the standard Spark range, so we are expecting to retail them for approx NZ$85.00 / A$80.00 (depending on international exchange rates at time of shipment).

And there is a very good chance that the Spark version will arrive before the 2017 TSM version. Spark is quoting a release date of March/April 2019 ... but don't quote me on that!

John, any news on the Rothmans and Pink Pig 911s? Because it would be a VERY cold day in hell the day I pay this kind of money for a model that doesn't have a complete livery.

Here's a new one from Spark for the North American side of Gary's collection :

Porsche 911 Rsr N 38 Mid-Ohio 1000 Miles 1977 J.Paul SPARK 1:43 US045

I like the way it looks like they stole the rear wing from an F1 car.

Interesting race to have picked. I would have liked the car as run at Daytona or Sebring in 1978. Finished 4th in both races, 1st in class at Sebring. His co-driver was Bonky Fernandez (love that name), although they were back to running the whale tail rear spoiler.
