I was happy to read about the release of Top Marques' BMW E21 Alpina. Until I saw the pictures...
The roofline is too low, distorting the side glass. From the side view it's Neo banana-shaped. The bootlid is too long, wheels are too large... it's wrong everywhere you look.
In the age of 3D scanners and printers, why is it so hard to get the basic proportions correct? Even the 1970s Schuco model was a lot better.
It is horrible. Gaz' picture shows another flaw of the TM model: they neglected to model the curve in the side glass, A, B and C pillars. The glass is completely flat.
You didnt see the rear 3/4 photo which will show you that the shape is absolutely horrible..
At 84.95€ each I wonder how many will be sold?..
Fingers crossed that they do not mess up that badly with the coming Ferraris..
Why model this anyway? A real failure. On the plus side, the pre-release pics of the Ferraris look ok.
They are already doing some tuner Mercs and other BMWs (? not sure about this), but again, why bother making a terrible expensive model when you could get a great replica at a lower price?
Re: Ferraris, I think they pictured their 1/18 models there, so let's wait and see their real 1/43 photos..
